Why is the allusion regarding squeezing time into a ball relevant in?
It's not squeezing time into a ball (though its interesting that you make that mistake when there's so much emphasis on time in that poem); it's squeezing the universe into a ball to roll it towards an overwhelming question. Prufrock is lamenting that even if he did say something profound (rolled the universe into a ball" = summed up the entirety of Creation") and potentially earth-shaking (directly addressing the Overwhelming Question), his companion might easily misunderstand him.
