Why are CCTV cameras so bad?
I dont know about yours, but my Mobotix cameras are great as far as resolution and image clarity. If you are still stuck with using CIF resolution analog cameras (that use BNC or RCA jacks) I agree with you, their resolution sucks. If you value your security video, get a decent security camera.
