How can I fix a Singer 201 sewing machine that is not working?

Whats wrong with it? These machines rarely have problems that require significant adjustments or parts replaced- excepting wearable parts like belts, bulbs, and bobbin winder friction rings. Change your needle, ensure your bobbin is wound with new, quality machine sewing thread and that is wound tight into the bobbin, not mushy. Ensure that the bobbin is loaded so it rotates counterclockwise in the bobbin case when you draw thread from it, and make sure its threaded into the bobbin case tension. Double check your upper threading. Thread it with the presser foot up. Just before loading the thread into the needle, pull on the thread. You should feel smooth, steady resistance. After threading the needle and turning the handwheel once to bring up the bobbin thread, perform the same test. The bobbin thread should have some resistance against you pulling the thread. Test sew on 2 layers of a medium weight woven fabric. This solves more sewing issues than anything else. Threading error and its consequences are to blame for the majority of the time when a sewing machine doesnt work. If you can provide more details, I can try to further assist you. Check out some of my other answers on the subject of sewing machines for more tips, too.
