Why do people in functions, parties, marriages etc.?
Usually 100,500 etc. Paper notes are taken and one rupee coin is placed on it,then gifted. This is follow up of very old custom gifting one gold or silver rupee coin in marriages asual as to purohita person. Inflation , prestige and tradition are the causes.
