Does hydrogen fluoride gas corrode Nickel 201?
In general nickel is resistant to attack from dry HF. NiF2 is very unusual for a metal fluoride in forming a tough contiguous layer on top of the metal, analogous to Al2O3 on aluminium. So after a very small initial attack the nickel will be unaffected and thats why HF is often handled in nickel containers and piping, much cheaper than platinum!
